Are you looking for a memorable experience for the family? Or maybe it’s just the two of you looking for a romantic date on horseback. Either way, Spur Cross Stables can help. We offer private rides for a more personalized, intimate horseback riding experience. Though it costs a bit more than a group ride, this quality time in the isolated beauty of the high Sonoran desert is well worth while.

You may customize your private ride or choose from our six Trailblazer Rides, which range from 4 to 6 hours:

Native American Ruins Trail Ride, featuring the dwellings of the ancient Hohokam people who, for reasons unknown, disappeared around 1400 AD
Petroglyphs Trail Ride, featuring rock art by the ancient Hohokam people – images often studied, but rarely understood
Seven Springs Trail Ride, featuring a scenic journey along Cave Creek and a cowboy supper at Seven Springs
Stagecoach Stop Trail Ride, featuring an historic stagecoach stop once frequented by people going back and forth to gold mines
Crested Headed Saguaro Trail Ride, featuring the largest Crested headed Saguaro cactus in the world

All of our trail rides are designed as “walking” rides to keep it simple and gentle on both riders and their horses. However, if you are an experienced rider and you’re interested in something that requires a greater skill level, just let us know. We can customize a trail ride for you to include steeper, more rugged terrain.

Minimum age to ride horseback at Spur Cross Stables is 6 years old, however we can accommodate younger ages in our Lil’ Buckaroos program for children who are not ready to ride alone.
